| Kanchanjunga
is located eastern part of Nepal and it is Nepal’s second
highest peak and the third in the world. Twelve miles north
of Kanchanjunga is the Tibetan frontier. This runs along the
main watershed of the Himalayas,. It is a mountain great enough
to posses its own glaciers radiating from its several summits,
and though surrounded by many vassal peaks. Kanchanjunga boasts
some of the most magnificentworld. There are more than forty
peaks higher than 5000m in this region. These peak remain
covered by snow throughout the year. This is the only region
having the largest number of glaciers. These Glaciers are
the sources of the big rivers like, Tamor , Mewa khola, Phawa
khola and Kabeli river. Sherpa’s ,limbu, Braman, chetri
and Rai are major tribes who lives surrounding over here.
Flora and Fauna
In the region can be found Himalayan orchids and other wildflower
including many valuable medical plants. The forests are well
preserved. Bird life , Deer and wild sheep are often spoted.
Snow leopards are found in some of the area.
People and culture
Sherpa’s ,limbu, Braman, chetri and Rai are major tribes
who lives surrounding over here. Traditional handicraft production,
particularly carpet weaving and wood turning, are commonly
found through out the region. The village of Chainpur is famous
for Brassware production.

| Day 01 |
Arrival in Kathmandu. and Transfer to Hotel |
| Day 02 |
Free day in Kathmandu. |
| Day 03 |
by air to Biratnager / Taplejung
to Phurumba
. by air to Biratnager / Taplejung to Phurumba
After arriving at the Taplejung airport and meeting
all the trekking staff , trek together towards to Phurumba
which will take about two hours . |
| Day 04 |
Phurumba to Chirwa
To day you have trek through forest, villages( via Rinkim,
Tiwa) and crossing river to reach to Chirwa which will
take about 6hours. |
| Day 05 |
Chirwa to Sekathum
Trail continue along the Tamour river you will reach
to WalunchungGola . here is the entry point to Kanchanjunga
conservation Area. Where you will start to see sherpa
settlement. After crossing Gunsa khola you will reach
to Sekathum. |
| Day 06 |
Sekathum to Amjilassa(2400m)
A step and long climb up a reasonably good trail for
5 hours .good views of valley and river below and Himalayan
peaks in the distance , several open yaks grazing pastures
exist here and clear side streams provide good water
supply. |
| Day 07 |
Amjilassa to Kyapra (2820m)
It is a hike along the river banks through densely forested
hillside( bamboo, fir and scattered rhododendron). The
river drops steeply with many waterfalls and crystal
clear pools. Climb up to green pastures just beyond
a group of Buddhist stone houses at Kyapra. |
| Day 08 |
Kyapra to Ghunsa( 3480m)
The trail gently undulates with a few steep uphill portions.Passing
through the village of Phale and visit a Buddhist Gompa
near to village- much Tibetan art is evident as are
the villagers weaving of rugs. Ghunsa is a large Bhotia
community of stone houses and tidy small farm. |
| Day 09 |
Gunsa to Kangbachen(4000m)
A fairly difficult trail that climbs up along the river.
Several magnificent waterfalls are encountered along
the way. Excellent views of Kumbhakarna and other high
peaks. The country side here is more barren with scrub
juniper. |
| Day 10 |
Kangbachen
A rest day is taken here to enable time to relax, bath
or take a day walk. |
| Day 11 |
Kangbachen to Lhonak (4700m)
Trail climbs gradually through open rocky fields to
Ramtang(4350m)Walking from here is on large boulders
which leads to the terminal moraine of the Kanchanjunga
glacier. Terrific mountain views abound in all direction. |
| Day 12 |
Lhonak to Pangpema(5065m)
The trail continues along the Kanchanjunga glacier with
a moderate to slow ascent with excellent views. |
| Day 13 |
Pangpema
Wonderful day hikes around or explore in the glacier
.Incredible views of Kanchanjunga and Yalung kang. Blue
sheep and musk deer may be seen together with lamergiers
tremendous bird(span). |
| Day 14 |
Pangpema to Kangbachen; Descent 6hrs back to Kangbachen |
| Day 15 |
Kangbachen to Gunsa
Descent 750m for 5hours |
| Day 16 |
Gunsa to Mirgin la(4300m)
Camp slightly before Mirgin La Pass. After a steep ascent
through Rhododendron forest, reach to Tamo La pass,
a ridge festooned with prayers flags. As we go towards
another ridge crest, rising at 4115m, nice picture of
Ghunsa river, snaking along the north Kanchanjunga glacier.
Continue to scramble up enjoying the sight of Kanchanjunga
west. |
| Day 17 |
Mirgin La to Tseram(3870m)
After crossing the Mirgin La ascent to Sinon La (4660m)
and another pass at 4700m. trail descends towards to
Simbhu Khola valley. It is an excellent place to organized
two days extra excursion. Visit to Ramche village4620m
and in to the Yalung glacier, towards its south base
camp. |
| Day 18 |
Tseram to Omje khola
Trail passes through clearings across streams and plunges
in a dense pine and rhododendron forest. After Toronton
, cross the Simbu Khola on a cantilevered bridge and
steeply climb up through bamboo forest reach to Lamite
Bhanjyang and head down through pastures and rhododendron
forests. |
| Day 19 |
Omje Khola to Mamamkhe;
Trail continues through bamboo forest, pine forest and
crossing streams to Mamamkhe. |
| Day 20 |
Mamamkhe to Phonpe
Trail descent through forest and villages. |
| Day 21 |
Phonpe to Kunjari
You have to 940m ascent from Phonpe than 930m descent
to Kunjari |
| Day 22 |
Kunjari to Suketar airport
It will take about 7hours to reach to Suketar airport |
| Day 23 |
Suketar to Biratnagar to Kathmandu. |
| Day 24 |
Free day in Kathmandu. |
