Kanchanjunga is located eastern part of Nepal and it is Nepal’s second highest peak and the third in the world. Twelve miles north of Kanchanjunga is the Tibetan frontier. This runs along the main watershed of the Himalayas,. It is a mountain great enough to posses its own glaciers radiating from its several summits, and though surrounded by many vassal peaks. Kanchanjunga boasts some of the most magnificent snow and ice scenery in the world. There are more than forty peaks higher than 5000m in this region. These peak remain covered by snow throughout the year. This is the only region having the largest number of glaciers. These Glaciers are the sources of the big rivers like, Tamor , Mewa khola, Phawa khola and Kabeli river.

Flora and Fauna
In the region can be found Himalayan orchids and other wildflower including many valuable medical plants. The forests are well preserved. Bird life , Deer and wild sheep are often spoted. Snow leopards are found in some of the area.

People and culture
Sherpa’s ,limbu, Braman, chetri and Rai are major tribes who lives surrounding over here. Traditional handicraft production, particularly carpet weaving and wood turning, are commonly found through out the region. The village of Chainpur is famous for Brassware production.
   
Kanchejunga Trek
Starting from: Taplejung (Suketar) (1hour flight from Kathmandu.)
Ending at: Taplejung (Suketar) (1hour flight to Kathmandu.
Grade: Adventurous
Highest access of the trek: Pang-pema (5120m)
Culture: Gurung, Brahman, Chhetri, Rai, Limbu, Tamang and others.
Mode of trekking tour: Camping
Himalayan sights: Himalayan ranges Mt. Kanchanjunga Kumbhakarna, Nepal Peak, Khambachen, Mt. Everest, Makalu, Lotse, Nuptse and many mores.
Most Attraction of the trek: Non Touristic area, more than 40 peaks above 5000m, mixed life and very famous blue Sheep.
 
Day to Day Itinerary
Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu. and Transfer to Hotel
Day 02 Free day in Kathmandu.
Day 03 Kathmandu. to Biratnagar to Suketar(2400m) by air
Day 04 Suketar to Tembewa(1880m)4 to 5hrs
The trail climbs gradually along the rhododendron forest of Surke Danda and crosses a ridge at 2580m. trail leading to a forested area and descends to a Lalikharka. Trail goes through fields to the substantial Limbu village of Tembewa.
Day 05 Tembewa to Khesewa(1960m) 5 to 6 hrs
The path follows to the ridge summit and descend Shimu and Pokara village. Cross the suspension bridge and climb steeply to Kunjari village to the Bhanjyang. From here, Kanchanjunga and kyabru are visible. Descend gently on a sloping path, arriving at the terraced fields of Khesewa.
Day 06 Khesewa to Mamanke(1780m) 6 to 7hrs
Trail descend along the river. Climb the forest and pass the village of Loppoding. Trail goes ups and down to Fun Fun to the ridge at 1850m. descend steeply through rice terraces to the Khaksewa Khola and climb to Mamamke.
Day 07 Mamanke to Yamphudin(1690m) 4hrs
Trail leads to the village of Dekakin. The parts of path are on cliffs high above the river. The mountain route affords a panorama of the Kabeli khola. Striking out on a ridge leaving the river and climbing to a splendid ridge passes through villages and fields. Trail climbs gradually to remote permanent village of Yamphudin.
Day 08 Yamphudin to Amji Khola(2340m) 4 to 5hrs
Cross the amji khola on a couple of bamboo poles and follow the Kabeli khola. Trail goes straight uphill and zigzag up through fields to Darachuk. Trail follows to Dhupi Bhanjyang(2540m) and descend through ferns and big trees to Amji khola.
Day 09 Amji Khola to Torontan(2990m) 5 to 6hrs
The trail makes a steep climb through bamboo to a Kharka at Chitre(2920m). trail passes through a forest of pines and rhododendrons to a pond at Lamite Bhanjyang 3410m. on a clear day ridge provides view of Jannu. Trail passes through landslide area and it enter to forest to the cave.
Day 10 Torontan to Tseram(3870m) 4 to 5hrs
The path follows the river bank and passing the bivouac caves. Trail enters to thickly forest with pine and rhododendrons. Soon the ground is gravel vovered and comes to a shrine with a huge boulder. This shrine marks the boundary of a sacred part of the valley. Trail climbs to Tseram.
Day 11 Tseram to Ramche(4620m) 3 to 4hrs
Trail goes through forests to a landslide area. Climb to some Mani walls and a stone houses near the tree line.Rathong(6678m) and Kabru Dome(6700m) at the head of valley. Trail climbs in to the valley and it opens up Yalung glacier. Pass a tiny pond and skirt around.
Day 12 Rest day and explore
Day 13 Tseram to Lamite Bhanjyang 6to 7hrs
Return back to Simbhu khola and climb to Lamite Bhanjyang.
Day 14 Lamite Bhanjyang to Yanphudin 5 to 6hrs
Descend to the Amji khola and climb to Dhupi Bhanjyang. Trail descend to Yamphudin.
Day 15 Yamphudin to Phumphe 5 to 6hrs
Trail ascents and descents through forest and villages.
Day 16 Phumphe to Kunjari 6 to 7 hrs
Trail passes through villages and forest.
Day 17 Kunjari to Suketar 7hrs
It is a long walk through villages and trail goes up and down.
Day 18 Suketar to Biratnagar to Kathmandu. by air
Day 19 Free day in Kathmandu.
