The classic walk has clear cut goal to see Mt Everest. Many people find the sights along the way rival the climatic views of the world’s highest mountains Solukhumbhu, the home of legendary sherpas. the northern part of solukhumbu area is encompassed in the Everest national park, which was established to protect the fragile environment of this alpine region. To the east of Everest national park is the Makalu Barun national park, a remote and wild stretch of mountain peaks and deep densely forested valleys. To the west is Rolwaling valley, a well protected microcosm of cultures and ecology. Beside Everest there are three other 8000m peaks Lhotse(8516m) Makalu(8463m), Choyo(8201m)and in addition numerous other peaks of lesser altitude but no less stunning. Add to this glacial lakes, rhododendron forests, native flora and fauna, traditional villages and ancient Buddhist monasteries, all go to make this region a spectacular destination.
People and culture
Sherpas are main ethnic group who lives around in this region. This is their heart land and their influence is to be seen everywhere from their traditional dress to their distinctive houses and monasteries. There are also minorities of various other groups. Like Rai, Tamang, Braman and Chhetri.
Flora and Fauna
Up to 4000m you will find dense stands of forest including pine, oak and the spectacular flowering rhododendrons. In spring all the hills are riot of colours. There is a good chance of seeing wildlife, mostly of them are birds. If you are lucky, you may will see musk deer, barking deer and Himalayan Tahr.

| Day 01: Arrival and transfer to Hotel during the day Walking tour to Kathmandu Durbar Squire. Hanumandhoka (Kathamdnu Durbar Square): It is the historic seat of royalty. The Durbar Square, with its old temples and palaces, epitomizes the religious and cultural life of people. It is here that kings of Nepal are crowned and their coronations solemnized. Interesting things to see here are, Taleju temple built by king Mahendra Malla in 1954 AD, the temple of Kal Bhairab , the god of destruction, Nautale durbar, the statue of King Pratap Malla, the big drum and the Jaganath temple. It was listed in the UNESCO world heritage monument list in 1979. On the right hand corner, a large wooden lattice screen hides an enormous gilded face of Sweta Bhairab. The screen is removed only during the Indra Jatra festival.. there are also the Numismatic museum and Tribhuban museum inside the Hanuman Dhoka palace building . Photography is prohibited inside the museums. Both the mseums remain closed on Tuesday and government holidays. Day 02: Free day in Kathmandu or Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. Budhanilkantha: About 8km north of Kathmandu at the base of Shivapuri hill is a remarkable huge statue of Lord Visnhu. Reclining on a bed of snakes.This is one of the masterpieces of stone sculptures of the Lichchhavi period. This fifth century statue is in the middle of a small pond and seems to float in water. Swoyambhunath This is one of the world‘s most glorious Buddhist Chaityas. It is said to be 2,000 years old. Painted on the four sides of the spire’s base are the all seeing eyes of Lord Budhha. It is 3Km west of Kathmandu city and it situated on a hillock about 77 m commands an excellent view of the Valley. This stupa is the oldest of its kind in Nepal. It was listed in the UNSCO world Heritage Monument List in 1979. Pashupatinath Temple: Situated 5km east of kathamandu, the temple of Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath, with two tired golden roof and silver door is considered one of the holiest for Hindus. Although only Hindus are allowed inside the temple, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activites performed in the Temple premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati river. The Temple was listed in the UNESCO world heritage Monument List in 1979 Day 03: Kathmandu to Lukla Phakding (2,600m) Fly to Lukla. Here we organise our loads with porters and Sherpas then set off t o Phakding for our first nights on the trail. Approx 1 hour flight; Lukla – Phakding: 3 hrs trek FLIGHT KATHMANDU – LUKLA Provided the weather is clear, the views on the flight are stunning. As you leave the airport you have superb views of the Langtang and Jugal rangers that surround the Kathmandu Basin. You then fly over Rolwaling Himal with striking views of Gauraisankar and Menlungtse before reaching the Everest region and the airport at Lukla. LUKLA – PHAKDING The trail starts from Lukla with a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Kosi (river). In the distance you may be able to see Nupla (5,885m), rising above the ridge. The path continues up and down along the side of the river before arriving at Phakding Day 04: Phading to Namche Bazar (3,440m) We follow the Dudh Kosi river passing villages interspersed with magnificent forests of rhododendron, magnolia trees and giant firs to Namche Bazar, the main settlement of the Sherpa area. Phakding – Namche Bazar: 6hrs trek PHAKDING – NAMCHE BAZAAR Continuing from Phakding you get your first view of Thamserku (6,623m), which looms above you on the opposite side of the river. The path climbs up a terraced hillside passing through small villages and rhododendrons forest and across a number of small streams. There are many ascents and descents but the final hike up to Namche Bazaar is quite hard going with a steep path that zig zags up the hill. However, it is all worthwhile as you finally reach the top of the ridge and there are superb views of Everest (8,848m) and Lhotse (8,516m). A final short walk through pine forest takes you to Namche Bazaar, the centre of the Everest Trekking region. In the town there is an interesting Sherpa Traditional Museum from where there are fabulous views of Thamserku (6,623m), Amadablan (6,812m), Island Peak (6,160m), Lhotse (8,516m) and the top of Everest (8,848m) Day 05: Namche Bazar (Rest Day )- A day to acclimatize. We take a steep hike up to Songbuche and then to Everest Panaroma viewpoint (3900 m) from where we will be have great views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse,Island Peak Amadablamm Kangde ga, and Thamserku. We also visit Kunde hospital that was erected by Sir Edmund Hilary. Namche – Songbuche – Namche: 6 hrs trek Day 06: Namche Bazar to Tengboche (3,860m) - From Namche we trek to Khumjung at the foot of sacred Khumbila peak (5,761m). Khumjung Gompa possesses what is said to be the skull of a yeti ! Continue to Phunki and Tyangboche for one of the most magnificent views in the world. Namche – Tyangboche: 5hrs trek NAMCHE BAZAAR – TENGBOCHE There are two routes to Tyangboche and we take the left fork via Khumjung at the foot of Khumbila Peak (5,761m). Khumjung Gompa possesses what is said to be the skull of a yeti. From Khumbila we descend through forest to the village of Trashinga and then down to the Dudh Khosi which can be heard thundering through the valley. After crossing the river it is a long steep climb to Tyangboche. As you reach the top, the incline gradually eases off and you finally pass through a stone gate, built by lamas, which marks the entrance to Tyangboche. In front of you is one of the most impressive views anywhere in the Himalayas, an awe inspiring panorama of Himalayan giants: Kwangde, Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Amadablam, Kategna and Thamserku. Find yourself a seat and settle down to watch the sun set over Everest! Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4300m) Cross the Imja Khola and Continue through terraced fields and rolling pastures Where yaks graze to Pangboche (3,860m). Our day ends in Dingboche. Day 08: Dingboche to Luboche (4,900m) - The trail climbs through a grass carpeted valley to Khumbu Glacier and reaches Dughla. We continue to Lobuche. Pheriche – Lobuche: 5hrs trek Day 09: Lobuce to Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep (5,300m) An exciting day as we head towards our final destination. After lunch we will leave our bags in gorakshep and walking towards to everest base camp at the afternoon we will return back to gorakshep Day 10: Gorekshep to Kalapattar to Lobuche (5,600m) Early in the morning we will climb to the Kalapattar for sunrise tour. In a clear day there are magnificent views of Everest range including close views of mountain Everest. Then walking down hills towards to lubuche Day 11: View Form KalapattarLobuche to Tengboche Walking through with forest and high dry sandy stone path to tengboche Day 12: Tengboche to Monjo We will continue to walking down hill through forest & River. After crossing suspension bridge trail will continue to Monjo Day 13: Monjo - Lukla Walking through side of river and forest to reach to Lukla. Where we spent a nights Day 14: Lukla to Kathmandu by air & rest day Patan The ancient city of Patan, lying 5 km southwest of kathmandu, is known as the city of fine arts, The city is full of Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments. The diversity of the medieval culture that allowed both Hinduism and Buddhism to flourish has left a rich legacy of impressive sightseeing in this city for today’s visitors. Patan Durbar Square: Situated in the heart of the city, constitutes the focus of visitor’s attraction. The square is full of ancient palaces, Temple and shrines, noted for their exquisite carvings. The Patan durbar Square consist of three main chowks or countryards, the Central Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk and Keshar narayan Chowk, The Sundari Chowk holds in its center a masterpiece of stone architecture. The Royal Bath called Tushahity. It was listed in the UNESCO world Heritage Monument list in 1979. Krishna Mandir: Built in 1637 AD, the temple of Lord Krishaa holds a commanding position in the palace complex of Patan. It is supposed to be the first specimen of Shikhara style architecture in Nepal. It is the only temple in Nepal having 21 spires and is completely 21 spires and is completely mad of stone. Day 15: Free day in Kathmandu or Sightseeing in Bhatapur city. Bhaktapur Situated at an altitude of 1,401m, Bhaktapur covers an area of four square miles. Bhaktapur or the city of Devotees still retains a medieval charm and visitors to this ancient town are treated to myriad wonders of cultural and artistic achievements. The past glory of the Malla rulers continues to be reflected at the Durbar Square. Pottery and weaving are its traditional industries. Bhaktapur is famous for woodcarving and the Bhadgaolen topi or cap. The city lies about 14 km east of Kathmandu and can be reached by public transport and by trolley buses. Bhaktapur durbar Squares: The Golden Gate is the entrance to the main courtyard of the Palace of 55 Windows.Built by King Ranjit Malla. The gate is one of the most beautiful and richly carved specimens of its kind in the entire world. This gate is embellished with deities and monsters with marvelous intricacy. The palace of 55 windows was built in 1700 AD. Among the brick walls in their gracious setting and sculptural design, is a balcony of 55 windows. This balcony is a masterpiece of wood carving. The stone temple of Batsala Devi which is also located in the Durbar Square is full of intricate carvings. This temple also sets a beautiful example of Shikhara style architecture in Nepal. There is a bronze bell on the terrace of the temple which is also known as the Bell of Barking Dogs. This colossal bell, placed in 1737 AD, was rung to signal curfew those days. The main square of the city contains innumerable temples and other architectural showpieces like the Lion Gate, the statue of King Bhupatindra Malla, the Picture Galley, the Batsal Temple, etc. A magnificent statue of King Bhupatindra Malla in the act of worship is placed on the column facing the palace. It was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument list in 1979. Changu Narayan: Situated at the end of a long ridge which runs well into the Valley, It is said to have been built by king Hari Dutta in 323 AD said to be the oldest temple in the valley. It was listed in the UNESCO world Heritage Mountain list in 1979 Day 16: End of Programme. |
